Time Trials - Tuesday, June 2nd:
Time Trials are Tuesday, 6/2! They will take place at our pool starting at 6pm (more detailed info will be sent next Monday 6/1). This is a mock meet to teach our swimmers (and parents & volunteers) how a meet runs. You can register your swimmers for meets under the same tab as volunteer registration - Sign-up Calendar - Meets. If this is your first time signing up for meets and/or volunteering, attached is more information/description about what volunteering roles are and how to register for meets on Swimtopia!
Follow these instructions to declare if your swimmer will swim at Time Trials. All the rest of the meets are also open to declare. We ask for swimmers to try to declare a week before a meet is scheduled if not sooner.
1. Log into your family account at shrcsealions.swimtopia.com.
2. Go to Meets & Events > Sign Up Calendar
3. Click on the green button with a ? mark that says Meet Entry Open.
4. Under each swimmer click on the drop-down box that says "undeclared" and choose "attending this meet" or "not attending this meet". You will also be asked about relays for each swimmer. Relays occur at the beginning and the end of the meet.
Sea Lion Olympics
Don't forget to RSVP for Sea Lion Olympics by this Friday the 29th! Sea Lion Olympics will be Friday, June 5th from 5-6:30pm.
Cary City Meet Tent Decorators Needed
We need a few more people to help decorate our tent at the Cary City Meet this year. The meet is at Scottish Hills on Saturday, July 11th. This is considered a lead volunteer role and would exempt you from the 4 volunteer roles throughout the season. Please email [email protected] if you're interested!
Birth Certificates - New Swimmers Only:
The deadline to submit a copy of each swimmer's birth certificate is June 6th. A birth certificate must be submitted before a swimmer can swim in a swim meet. Our first swim meet is June 9th. You can turn in a copy of your swimmer's certificate to Taylor or Amy during practice, Time Trials on June 2nd, or Make-Up Time Trials on June 6th.
Monday Night Pasta Pump-Up
Pasta Pump-Up is a potluck event we will have every Monday night before a meet, starting June 1st, throughout the season. This is a fun way to commune together and get pumped up for the upcoming meet. If you choose to participate, we ask that you bring a dish (main, side, or dessert) to share, one large enough that it would feed your family plus extras. If you don't have enough time to make something at home, feel free to order a pizza or pick something up at the store. Main dishes are not limited to pasta, and we will have some gluten free and allergen free options. Reminder, no glass is allowed on the pool deck.
We will set all the food up under the covered deck area at the back of the pool. We'll eat around 6:30pm (after the 6 and under/Sea Pup practice). Come on out and join the fun! Please remind your swimmers that we let our coaches go through the line first. We also ask that children not line up too early as this can make the set-up process a little chaotic for our parent helpers! In addition, please let everyone go through the line once before getting seconds and don't forget to clean up your trash!
We have a sign-up genius for this event so we can ensure we have enough food, and we have a good variety as well! Thank you to all our parents that contribute to this awesome event!
Please use the link below to access the sign-up for this first Pasta Pump-Up!
We hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day! See everyone Tuesday!
