Sunday Update 5/17
Good evening, Sea Lions!
We made it through the first week of practice. Everyone did great! We know the first week is usually a little crazy with schedules and unfamiliarity. We loved seeing everyone this week and are looking forward to another awesome week! We know everyone gets a ton of emails from all of their activities, but we ask that you take 5 minutes to read these emails or check https://shrcsealions.
Because of the incredible amount of Sea Lion athletes this season, we will be CLOSING REGISTRATION THIS TUESDAY THE 19TH. This is a week earlier than we had planned, so if you know anyone who hasn't registered please tell them to register!
Practice Schedule for 5/18-5/21 (same as last week except *NO PRACTICE FRIDAY*):
4-5pm for 11 and ups
5-6pm for 7-10s
5:45pm-6:30pm for 6 and unders

Practice Reminders for Parents and Swimmers:
We know how exciting and fun it is to watch our little ones learn new skills and make sure they are participating, but we do ask for parents to not come behind the blocks during active practice time. If you have any questions, please find Taylor or Amy!
All swimmers need to wear/bring the following to practice:
-swim suit and goggles
-towel
-water bottle (we want to make sure swimmers stay hydrated!)
Just a reminder that the pool is still not open for swimming yet during the week, with the exception of swim team practice times. Parents/siblings are allowed on the pool deck, but only the swim team is allowed in the water until the pool opens for members. When swim team practices are over at 6:30pm all families must leave the pool deck.
Birth Certificates - New Swimmers Only:
The deadline to submit a copy of each swimmer's birth certificate is June 6th. A birth certificate must be submitted before a swimmer can swim in a swim meet. Our first swim meet is June 9th. You can turn in a copy of your swimmer's certificate to Taylor or Amy during practice, Time Trials on June 2nd, or Make-Up Time Trials on June 6th.
Swimsuits:
Our team swimsuits are available at Kiefer Aquatics. Just tell them you are with Scottish Hills, and they will know which suit is for us!

Upcoming Swim Team Events:
Monday, June 1st @ 6:30pm: First Pasta Pump-up (Signups to follow soon!)
Tuesday, June 2nd @ 6:00pm: Time Trials
Saturday, June 5th @ 5pm: Sea Lion Olympics
Pasta Pump-Up Info:
Pasta Pump-Up is a potluck event we will have every Monday night before a meet, starting June 1st, throughout the season. This is a fun way to commune together and get pumped up for the upcoming meet. Everyone can use the sign-up link provided soon to bring a dish (main, side, or dessert) to share, one large enough that it would feed your family. Main dishes are not limited to pasta. We will set all the food up under the covered deck area at the back of the pool. We'll eat around 6:30pm (after the 6 and under practice). Dinner usually wraps up about 7:15 in time for the swimmers to play some games in the back field or pool with the coaches. Come on out and join the fun!
Sea Lion Olympics info:
This year, in place of practices, the Sea Lion Olympics will be Friday, June 5th from 5:00 - 6:30pm. It's not mandatory, but the kids have a ton of fun participating! Please RSVP on the Swimtopia website or app by Friday, May 29th.
This week will be HOT so bring plenty of water! See you on the deck!
