MEET DECLARATION - IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!!

Deadline to signup up in 11:59pm tonight for Tuesday's meet.

Thank you for all the parents who have already declared their swimmers for the meet this week. As you can imagine, it makes the job much easier for all the behind-the-scenes helpers when that information is done on time! Instructions on how to declare below and attached to this email.

ADDTIONAL IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR PARENTS:

1. Commitment to relays is very important (6 and unders do not participate in relays). If there are strokes your swimmer doesn't like swimming, then please opt OUT of the Medley relays. We cannot take specific requests for strokes.

2. If your swimmer needs to leave the meet early, please opt OUT of late relays when declaring.

3. We have A LOT of swimmers this year! If you do sign-up for relays, we will do our best to make sure your swimmer gets to swim in one of the relays. But sometimes we just won't be able to get everyone in (especially at pools with less than 8 lanes). But we will make sure the FUN is distributed as evenly as possible, so all our swimmers get the opportunity to swim in the relays if they want throughout the season!

4. As a general heads-up, we will have your swimmer listed in all the strokes on the heat sheets. If you swimmer cannot swim a specific stroke due to needing to leave the meet early, we will cross them off from the heat sheets when they don't report to Clerk of Course. (We really encourage all our swimmers to participate in all their strokes, but we understand with school, etc. some families need to leave early). The reason for this is we cannot field all the individual emails every week from parents asking for their swimmer to not swim specific strokes. We are too big of a team, and we will likely miss something since all of us 'behind-the-scenes organizers' are juggling swim team with daytime jobs. So do not worry if you swimmer is listed in a heat but cannot swim that stroke for whatever reason.

Follow these instructions to declare if your swimmer will swim:

1. Log into your family account at shrcsealions.swimtopia.com.

2. Go to Meets & Events > Sign Up Calendar; We also have all the meets listed under Upcoming Events on the main page.

3. Click on the green button with the "?" mark that says Meet Entry Open.

4. Under each swimmer click on the drop-down box that says "undeclared" and choose "attending this meet" or "not attending this meet". You will also be asked about relays for each swimmer. 6 and under do not swim in relays. Relays occur at the beginning and the end of the meet.

There are instructions attached to this email for doing the meet declaration in the Swimtopia app.

Any changes after 12pm on Monday need to be sent to [email protected] & [email protected].

Tuesday's Meet Theme

80s Dance Party = Grab your neon, crank the boombox, and dive into a totally tubular swim meet! It's an 80s Dance Party at the pool—big hair, bright suits, and fast swims!

(Reminder, participating in the theme is not mandatory, just something we like to do for FUN!)

Pictures for End of Year Slideshow

We know it seems like a long time away, but we are already working on gathering pictures for our end of the season slide show. Please email pictures to Kristen Geyer at [email protected]. You can also share a digital album with her at that address.
