Happy Monday Sea Lions!! This week is our first away meet! Please make sure to read through this email as it will provide all the information you need regarding Cary Park Swim Club and any meet specific information. You will still want to bring your own chairs, etc. as usual. You will still write your swimmers initials on their shoulder before arriving. Our warm-ups begin at 5:30. So make sure you are there in time for that!

MEET DECLARATION

Thank you to all the parents that went in and signed their swimmers up for the meet. As always though, if there are any last-minute changes, please email us at [email protected] and [email protected] or find Ashley or Tami at the meet. If your swimmer needs to leave the meet unexpectedly, please let us know as this causes an issue for our relays if your swimmer listed to swim in a relay.

MEET INFORMATION:

STROKES

Cary Park has requested, due to their pool size (6 lanes) and the number of swimmers attending on Tuesday, that all swimmers swim 3 strokes instead of 4. Coach Sophia has gone through the line-ups and chosen which strokes each swimmer will swim tomorrow, so nothing is needed from parents. We just wanted everyone to be aware so when the heat sheets are released there isn't any confusion.

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED

We still have the following positions open for Tuesday night's meet at Cary Park. Please sign up in Swimtopia if you can help out. Please remember that we ask each family to serve 3 shifts per season.

CARK PARK POOL INFORMATION

Here are some details for Tuesday night's meet with the Cary Park Swim Team:

Pool: The Cary Park pool has 6 lanes and is 25 yards long. The pool has deck lighting and starting blocks.

Parking: There are several rows reserved for the visiting team parking in our parking lot (see attached map). Once those spots are full, the visiting team needs to park on side streets. Please do not block intersections or driveways. Please do not park on Cary Glen Blvd or around the circle.

Seating: The visiting team may sit on the clubhouse porch, deck by lifeguard station or on the grass outside of the pool fence. There is a “View & Go” lane available for parents to watch their swimmers. Given the small size deck, we request parents to sit on the porch or grass while not watching their swimmers.

Swimmers are to use the restrooms in pool area, not in the clubhouse.

Home team warmups begin at 5:00pm

Visiting team warmups begin at 5:30pm

The meet will promptly begin at 6:00pm

The Timers and Officials meeting will happen at 5:40 pm in the clubhouse.
