Monday Meet Memo - 6/12
Happy Monday Sea Lions!
We hope to see you all at the Pasta Pump-Up tonight after practice. If you haven't had a chance to sign-up to bring anything tonight, we still have open spots! Here's the link for sign-ups: Pasta Pump Up Signup
We'll have our team shirts to pick-up tonight between 5pm-7:30pm in the screened porch. We'll be selling these shirts this year as part of spirit wear for $15 if parents would like one as well. We will also have caps, bags, and magnets for sale tonight.
Shoutout from our Meet Administrator, Danielle Lychak:
"Our swim meets would not happen without our amazing volunteers! As the data manager, I couldn't do my job without our dedicated timers. Historically, the SHRC timers have been the best around. They are detail-oriented and understand that times matter to all of our swimmers at every level and in every heat. I wanted to take the opportunity to give a shout out to a timer each week that has gone above and beyond to help ensure that every swimmer is getting an accurate time. My "timer of the week" shoutout goes to Jessica Covington (with a little help from Jeanette Gretsch)".
MEET DECLARATION
Thank you to all the parents that went in and signed their swimmers up for the meet. As always though, if there are any last-minute changes, please email us at [email protected] and [email protected] or find Ashley or Tami at the meet. If your swimmer needs to leave the meet unexpectedly, please let us know as this causes an issue for our relays if your swimmer listed to swim in a relay.
MEET INFO
Our first meet is an AWAY meet against Apex Breakers tomorrow. Please arrive by 5:15pm for cheers before we have warm-ups at 5:30pm. See below for additional information from Apex regarding their pool/etc:
Our Address and Where to Park:
Our pool is located in downtown Apex. The address is: 309 Holleman St., Apex. You are welcome to park in the pool parking lots. Families are also free to park along the street or at the nearby Apex Baptist Church (across from the park on Holleman St.).
Where to Set Up:
The far side of the pool from the entrance (by the diving well) up to the side lifeguard chair is reserved for the visiting team. This is the shaded side of our pool. Please bring chairs! We do not have extra chairs available for seating. You are also welcome to bring shade tents. Deck space is limited, but you are welcome to set up tents and chairs on the grass outside the pool as well (near the playgrounds).
Team Warm-up Time:
Your team in pool warm-up time is 5:30 PM.
Volunteers Meeting at 5:45 PM:
Both TSA reps and volunteers will meet at the picnic tables at 5:45 PM to make sure everyone is on the same page and ready to go at 6:00 PM.
Lanes, Timing, and Dive-Overs:
The Apex Breakers have a 6 lane pool. Our team will be in lanes 1, 3, and 5 for mains. The visiting team will be in lanes 2, 4, and 6. We use old fashion, hand timing for our meets. We will fill in lanes wherever possible with swimmers from either team and share times at the end of the meet (opposing team timer sheets will be made available to you, feel free to use them or your own; whatever works best for your timers). Our starter will use dive-overs for 11&Ups to keep the pace of the meet moving.
Food and Drink:
The Apex Breakers Snack Bar will have BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, drinks, candy, and snacks available. You are welcome to bring your own coolers and food as well. Please remember that no glassware or alcohol are permitted. The snack bar accepts cash, check, and Venmo.
50/50 Raffle:
The Apex Breakers will be holding a 50/50 raffle as a fundraiser during our meets. Tickets will be sold at the picnic table near the snack bar. The winning ticket will be drawn after the backstroke event.
Parent/Coaches Relay:
We will be having a parent and coaches relay after the breaststroke event is complete. Please come dressed ready to swim and join in the fun!
Please email [email protected] if there are any other questions.
