Weekly Meet Info Email - Time Trials & Pasta Pump-Up is Back!
Time Trials is a week away! Time Trials will take place on June 7th at our pool. This is a mock meet to teach our swimmers (and parents & volunteers) how a meet runs.
Follow these instructions to declare if your swimmer will swim at Time Trials. (All the rest of the meets are also open to declare now if you want as well as volunteer positions. We ask for swimmers to try to declare a week before a meet is scheduled).
1. Log into your family account at shrcsealions.swimtopia.com.
2. Go to Meets & Events > Sign Up Calendar
3. Click on the green button with a ? mark that says Meet Entry Open.
4. Under each swimmer click on the drop down box that says "undeclared" and choose "attending this meet" or "not attending this meet". You will also be asked about relays for each swimmer. Relays occur at the beginning and the end of the meet.
Next, we ask you to sign up to volunteer. Each family will need to volunteer for a minimum of 4 sessions during the season. No experience is required for these positions and you will be given all instruction needed. Time Trials is a great time to learn about some of these positions without the pressure of a real meet.
You can access the volunteer selection by clicking on the green "Job Sign Up Open" button next to Time Trials on the Sign Up Calendar or by clicking on the blue "Sign Up for Job" button on the swim meet status page. If you have any questions regarding the positions, please feel free to email us at [email protected].
Pasta Pump-Up is Back!
Pasta Pump-Up is a potluck event we will have every Monday night before a meet, starting June 6th, throughout the season. This is a fun way to commune together and get pumped up for the upcoming meet. Everyone is asked to bring a dish (main, side, or dessert) to share, one large enough that it would feed your family. For example, if you have a family of 4, you may want to share a 9x12 dish of baked spaghetti. Or if you wish to contribute a side dish, please make sure it would be enough for your whole family. Just something to think about when planning your potluck dish! Main dishes are not limited to pasta. We will set all the food up under the covered deck area at the back of the pool. We'll eat around 6pm (after the 5pm practice). Dinner usually wraps up about 6:45 in time for the swimmers to play some games in the back field with the coaches. Come on out and join the fun!
